First Prize Award For Mutlu Battery in “Efficient Energy Industrial Plant”

Mutlu Battery, the leader of battery manufacturing in Turkey with its successful and innovative practice for 70 years, is awarded by the General Directorate of Renewable Energy under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. At the 16th “Industrial Energy Efficiency Project Competition” this year, in “Efficient Energy Industrial Plant” (EEIP) category, first prize is awarded to Mutlu Battery.

The 7th Energy Efficiency Forum was held by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources General Directorate of Renewable Energy for the 16th time on 14-16 January 2016. This year’s event, as in every year, hosted the “Industrial Energy Efficiency Project Competition”. Mutlu Battery, the leader of accumulator sector in Turkey, is awarded the first prize in “Efficient Energy Industrial Plant” (EEIP) category in motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers sub-sector.


The energy saved in this plant is equivalent of daily energy of 5000 houses

Mutlu Battery CEO, who accepted the first prize award presented by Dr. Berat Albayrak, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, mentioned the importance of this award and said, “This project, developed by our team, is very important for our company, our sector and ultimately for the national economy. We are proud that our project, which we successfully apply in our plants and save significant amount of energy, is awarded on this occasion. We save approx. 2,190,000 kw/h electric power with our project. This savings is equivalent of daily energy consumption of 5000 houses. We also saved 208,500 kw/h of natural gas power, which we import from other countries. As Mutlu Battery, we will continue to carry our 70-year innovative and successful business even further.”

Being the most valuable manufacturer of the sector for 70 years, Mutlu Battery won the prize by reducing energy density about 80.1% in “Efficient Energy Industrial Plant” (EEIP) category of 2015 in the past three years (2012-2014) compared to the Reference Energy Density (RED) between 2007-2011.

In the frame of energy policies of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources; it is intended to improve energy efficiency, to emerge, to promote and to expand environmentally conscious projects and technologies, as well as to increase information exchange among industrial businesses. In this context, successful projects are announced in the Industrial Energy Efficiency Project Competition every year to encourage new and similar works in energy efficiency.
